Career Counselling @VIT

We have come to an unprecedented age where learning is fast becoming a life long process. What you learn today cannot guarantee you a livelihood for say next twenty years, forget for your lifetime. The disruptive technologies, coupled with cross sector applications, have rendered the old outlook of learning one thing and leading life with it impossible. It is a difficult proposition even for a seasoned professional, forget a young 12th pass student who is planning to settle for a graduation course.

Before we even begin to consider of what to study, we need to analyse where to study, and perhaps the most important one- why to study that course/program. Courses related to Technology like Engineering, Polytechnic, & BCA have always fascinated people. Most of you may not be aware that today Service Sector contributed to around 60% of the national economy. It is much more that Agriculture, Manufacturing & Industry combine. A big percentage of Service Industry is governed by Information Technology related jobs. It is important to remember that these jobs are not only for CS or IT Engineering, but for all engineering including Agriculture, Civil, Electrical & Mechanical. Whereas Engineering Sector is one of the biggest job contributors to the Indian Economy, Engineers are one of the biggest percentage of Indians who are working & living outside India.

From the moment you wake up, to the moment you go back to sleep, technology is everywhere. The highly digital life we live and the development of our technological world have become the new normal. Today almost 50% of the world’s population uses the internet, leading to over 3.5 billion daily searches on Google and more than 570 new websites being launched each minute. And even more mind-boggling? Over 90% of the world’s data has been created in just the last couple of years. Today technology has made inroads in each and every aspect to life. The way we eat, live, play, or work, technology is present everywhere. This is set of increase further with passage of time. It is most logical that those who are closely associated with technology have better chances to succeed in life. The future is, factually speaking, uncertain. While futurists can dish out some exciting and downright scary visions for the future of technology and science, there are no future facts. However, the uncertainty presents opportunity.

Besides why should you take up a course, and what course should it be, one of the most important, and often overlooked question is where should you study. The place where you plan to seek for your future should have capabilities and wherewithal to assist you in each and every step. A college which can provide an environment for you to learn and also a place where you can feel free to learn.  A place which cares for you and doesn’t look down when you experiment and fail. We at VIT try to provide such environment under rigorous mentoring.

Today, we are witnessing an unprecedented change in the exponential technologies where legacy skills, tools and technologies have become obsolete. New-age digital professionals proficient in AI, IoT are being called upon to enter the talent workforce – with a new set of skills. These Emerging Technologies are already impacting the business and the world we know as never before. Today it is more important than ever to try to master them.

One of the core competencies of the Indian technology workforce has been its ability to onboard new talent at a rapid pace. Now, organizations will be deeply tested as they attempt to respond to a changing landscape over the next decade.

Keeping in view with the above, Vision Institute of Technology will start three new branches of B.Tech from the academic session 2020-21
