Mini Biogas Plant

Congratulations to B.Tech (Agriculture) Second year students of VIT on designing a ‘Mini Biogas Plant’ from waste material. It was most innovative and students learnt a lot in this practical implementation project.

Biogas Plant

biogas plant is the name often given to an anaerobic digester that treats farm wastes or energy crops. It can be produced using anaerobic digesters (air-tight tanks with different configurations).
Biogas plants rely on anaerobic digestion, a fermentation process in which waste is digested by microbes to produce methane gas (biogas). The waste can be converted into biofertiliser and spread directly onto fields, or the biogas itself can be used interchangeably with natural gas as fuel.
This Mini Biogas Plant was made from Waste Products lying in campus store & workshop.
